Lightning Fall To Sabres With One Regular Season Game Remaining

The Buffalo Sabres (39-37-6) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (44-29-8) 4-2 on Monday night at Amalie Arena.

Nikita Kucherov got his 99th assist on the season when Steven Stamkos scored his 40th goal of the season early in the second period - for Kucherov, he added to his points lead in the NHL scoring race. Erik Cernak also scored for the Lightning, while Dylan Cozens scored two of the goals on the night for the Sabres.

The Lightning now wrap up the regular season when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs in the regular season finale on Wednesday night. Puck drop in that game between the Lightning and Maple Leafs is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Amalie Arena.
